Motoyama Milk Bar @ Roppongi Hills Metro Hat (モトヤマミルクバー 六本木ヒルズ店)

So I walk by this cow every single day, and more often than not, there's someone milking it while having their picture taken. We finally had to give this place a try - just because there's a cool cow in front of it. The cow did it's marketing job.
Motoyama Milk Bar isn't a place you go just to drink milk, but rather a full restaurant that features milk from Hokkaido in all of its dishes.
Inside, the restaurant is largely milk colored - i.e. white. Creamy pastels are the order of the day. It also has a bit of a Shabby Chic feel to it, for those of you familiar with the Target line of home accessories.
Here's the menu - make sure you open the full image to be able to read it.
Here's the menu for the desserts - again, open it fully to see the details.
And this is the seasonal menu - stuff only available in the autumn. I assume they change this every few months. This time, it was focused on kuri, or chestnuts.
This is the 900 yen scallop gratin. Gratin is basically cream sauce over rich. Tastes a lot like the Chicken a la King packs from Stouffers from years back - in other words, it tastes great. The dish was super hot when it arrived, so you have to let it cool a bit to get even creamier.
The chicken gratin - also 900 yen - is essentially a copy of the above, except with - you guessed it - chicken and not scallop. Same exact taste. Very good.
Because the gratins were probably 1500 calories each, we decided to share dessert. We ended up ordering the Special Pudding Parfait for 1500 yen (more than the dinners). Since we love pudding, berries, and ice cream, this seems like the perfect combo - and it was. The ice cream was very cream, as was the pudding.
Personally, I still like the Midtown Parfait at Tokyo Midtown's Kyo Hayashi better, but this is great when you want VERY creamy ice cream. We'll definitely visit Motoyama again and recommend that you give it a try as well.
